Power Survey and Power Standards Labs are now Powerside

Powerside™ delivers a range of Power Intelligence monitoring, analysis, and correction solutions

MONTREAL, Quebec and ALAMEDA, California – September 10, 2019 - Power Survey and Power Standards Lab, pioneers in Power Intelligence™, today announced the rebranding of their businesses as Powerside. This change strengthens the companies’ shared commitment to providing an integrated range of power monitoring, analysis, and correction products and services, for OEM, C&I, and Utility customers.

“Together, we have a great legacy, an exciting growth strategy, and a strong core team,” said Vikas Desai, President and Chief Executive Officer of Powerside. Desai who joined the company in January 2019 has a proven track record of rapidly building successful energy businesses during his tenures at SunPower, EchoFirst, SunEdison, and Flextronics.“

Desai added, “Our product range extends from the PQube™, the most capable and cost-effective power analyzer on the market, to a full range of low and medium voltage correction equipment. To date, we have deployed 50,000+ monitoring solutions and delivered 5,000+ correction projects in over 50 countries. Since the two companies combined in 2017, we have focused on leveraging our products, expertise, and organization to create a unified offering of Power Intelligence solutions.”

Power Intelligence is a significant step above the traditional world of Power Quality. Companies today need to anticipate problems before they affect their power equipment and manufacturing processes. Having accurate data that pinpoints power issues in real-time avoids costly downtime, increased energy, and operating costs. Analyzing data and correcting power quality issues before the problems occur are key. This is what Powerside Power Intelligence™ solutions are all about.

“Key trends, like industrial equipment digitization, energy efficiency, and distributed energy resources, require a high degree of power quality for peak performance; but these same trends are also the cause of significant power disturbances,” said Mike Edmonds, Chairman of the Board of Powerside. “The traditional incident-response approach to power quality disturbances will no longer serve. The industry needs a more proactive approach, and Powerside is well-positioned to deliver this.”
