Dean has been investing in technology companies focused on energy and energy related areas for over 20 years. Dean joined EnerTech in 2004 and helps to lead the firms electrification opportunities. Currently, Dean is actively managing EnerTech’s investments in Encycle (observer) and Recurrent, and also sits on the NREL Investor Advisory Board. Previously, Dean managed and was either a board member or observer on Blue Pillar, CoaLogix, EnergySavvy, FuelQuest, OwnEnergy, and Tangent Energy (all acquired).
Prior to joining EnerTech, Dean spent 15 years with Exelon, one of the largest electric utilities in the U.S. Dean held various positions during his time at Exelon including in the corporate venture capital group making direct and fund investments, strategy and long range planning manager in the non-regulated business unit, and finance roles in several corporate start-up businesses including the energy management and consulting group, and on-site energy services business.
Dean received a BS in Finance from LaSalle University and an MBA from Temple University’s Fox School of Business.
